You can connect to a sequencer (MinION Mk1B/MinION MK1C/GridION/PromethION) using a remote computer on the same local area network via the Connection Manager feature in MinKNOW.

Instructions for connecting are found in the <a href="https://community.nanoporetech.com/docs/prepare/library_prep_protocols/experiment-companion-minknow?from=support" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">MinKNOW protocol</a>.

- Both remote machine and sequencer are connected to the same LAN either directly or via VPN

- Both the remote machine and sequencer are running the same version release of MinKNOW

- That port range 8000 -&gt; 9600 is open
