The difference between LA and NA
The difference between LA and NA
Updated over a week ago

Ligation Adapter (LA) contains sequencing adapters, which, through a single T overhang, are ligated the dA-tailed DNA fragments obtained in the end-prep step. LA is included in the Ligation Sequencing kits, SQK-LSK114 and SQK-LSK114-XL.

Native Adapter (NA) contains sequencing adapters, which, through a multi-nucleotide sticky end, are ligated to the barcoded DNA fragments obtained in the Native Barcode ligation step. NA and 24/96 unique barcodes are included in each Native Barcoding kit -SQK-NBD114.24 and SQK-NBD114.96 respectively.

LA and NA cannot be used interchangeably due to the different sticky ends they possess. NA will only target the unique barcodes included in the kits mentioned.
